fun times with Nana

Well, my mom has come and gone. We had a lot of fun with her! Although it was very tiring as last Saturday we shot a wedding together. From before 8:30 am to about 5:30 pm. That is hard- especially when you are 7 months pregnant!!! Wow! I was huffing and puffing! But it is something I love to do (the pictures, not the huffing and puffing) and it was extra fun and special having my mom here to help. That is the 4th wedding we have shot together- the third time she has flown out to shoot with me here in WA.

On Sunday we took mom out to Remlinger Farms, Snoqualmie Falls, and some of the jobsites where Dan has designed the homes (or the floors to the homes).

Remlinger Farms has all sorts of fun kid rides:

Jake in swim lessons. He has done so well this year. In 4 months he has passed through Pink, Rainbow, Green and now he's in Blue!

My girlie girl

One thing I was really looking forward to this year was having some dates with my sweet Olivia while Jake was in preschool. May is here, and I realized that Liv and I have only gone out and had girl time a handful of times this year. I usually teach two of the three mornings that Jake is in school, and every other Friday I go to MOPS at our church. Now, I have cut back a few piano students and had a glorious spring morning to spend with my daughter at the park. I also had my camera with me, since our first stop was the camera store, so the date was documented!

Tay-tay, Livi's dolly, came along with us, as she is part of the family afterall.

(she took interest in the ducks waddling around... until they turned on her and took interest in her!)

Pretty dresses, bracelets, fancy hair clips and all... so glad that this girl can still get dirty!

Just amother day...

Ok. so not "just another day".... Mother's Day was a day full of fun here at our home. Fresh baked chocolate croissants and a mocha for breakfast. Gorgeous day of sunshine. Relaxing in the hammock with a good book. A walk around Greenlake. Ice cream and Dicks cheeseburgers for dinner... does it get any better?!?!?

I also walked away with some fine mother's day gifts. A while back the kids got me a new IPOD. Then earlier this week my husband got me a new dishwasher (hey- I'll consider it a mother's day gift! This was a long awaited for appliance!), and then Jake made me a BEAUTIFUL birdhouse at school. The bird house was my prized gift. It brought tears to my eyes as I opened it- and then saw the HUGE smile on Jake's face. He was so proud!

Some of my sweet children this afternoon:

(Jake)

(Olivia)

And the youngest, best behaved one of them all:

(here's to still seeing my toes... if I stand at the right angle! This is not my stomach. I don't have a striped tummy. It's a tank top- FYI)

My resting place for the afternoon:

(note the freshly pedicured toes! Got that done with a girlfriend yesterday as our Mothers Day gifts to ourselves!)

rotten eggs?

There are many little things that the kids have been doing lately that I need to record or else I know I will forget. And many little things that I have already forgotten. :(
Something really cute is the Olivia says certain words. Her big lips get pushed out in such a way that she is simply irresistible! (like "Squishy chicken") Instead of saying nail polish, she calls it "pail nolish"! And lately, when we are baking and I have added eggs to the batter she will ask me if there is rotten eggs in it- meaning raw eggs (meaning she can't taste test it). I just don't have the heart to correct her most of the time because it is too cute! I'll try to add more of these little things to this post as I remember them.
